Is this thing still on? It’s been almost a year since my last post and so much has changed. I have moved yet again, I have started a new job and a new stage in my life. So there’s lots to share, particularly in what I’ve been doing–including participating in a stay with The Slave Dwelling Project (which was incredible to say the least). I’m trying to find balance, where I can handle working all day, being mom in the morning and evenings, and find time to write down my thoughts. It’s a massive juggling act and I’m glad to have had this break. But I missed writing and connecting with readers about the interpretation of slavery at historic sites and museums.
For everyone that sent me links about Whitney Plantation, thank you very much. I have lots of thoughts to share about the work going on there (good stuff, I speak to their director quite a bit). There is some fun stuff rolling around in my mind, so thanks for being patient with me as I try to get it on screen.
